What we open, fix & fit

Every job below runs regularly on Park Slope doors. Priced before anything is touched.

Emergency lockouts

Locked out of a rowhouse, a co-op unit, or a shop gate. Answered around the clock.

Full page →

Most Park Slope lockouts we reach are pre-war apartment doors, brownstone vestibules with two locks in series, or a storefront roll-gate on Fifth or Seventh Avenue. Older doors are heavy and the hardware is often original, so the job is to open it without wrecking a door that costs real money to replace.

  • Non-destructive entry attempted first, every time
  • Apartment, brownstone, co-op, and storefront doors
  • Damaged or seized cylinders repaired or replaced on the spot
  • Answered 24 hours, including overnight and holidays

Rekeying & lock changes

New place, old tenant, lost keys, or a contractor who never gave the set back.

Full page →

Rekeying keeps the existing hardware and changes what the key turns — usually the cheaper and faster answer than replacing a lock that is working fine. On rowhouses we commonly key the vestibule and the apartment door alike so one key does both.

  • Rekey after a move, sale, or tenant turnover
  • Key-alike sets so one key runs the whole door line
  • Deadbolt and knob replacement in matching finishes
  • Restricted keyways where copies need to be controlled

High-security cylinders

Medeco, Mul-T-Lock and Abloy — locks whose keys cannot be copied at a hardware store.

Full page →

The value of a high-security cylinder is key control: blanks are restricted, so a tenant, a cleaner, or a contractor cannot quietly walk out with a duplicate. That matters most on multi-family entries and any door a lot of people have touched.

  • Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Abloy and comparable cylinders
  • Bump, pick and drill resistance
  • Documented key control with signed authorization for copies
  • Retrofits into existing doors where the prep allows

Master key systems

One key for the super, individual keys per unit — planned properly so it stays that way.

Full page →

Master systems live or die on how they were charted at the start. We plan the hierarchy before cutting anything so the building can grow without collapsing the system, and we hand over the chart in writing.

  • Designed for pre-war multi-family buildings and co-ops
  • Super, management, and per-unit access levels
  • Written key chart handed to the owner or board
  • Expansion planned in from the beginning

Intercoms & access control

Dead buzzers, failed door releases, keyfob and keypad entry for multi-family entries.

Full page →

A buzzer that stopped working is usually the door strike or the wiring at the panel rather than the handset in the apartment. We test the run before quoting a replacement, because replacing the wrong end is the most common way this job gets expensive.

  • Buzzer and handset repair and replacement
  • Electric strikes and magnetic locks
  • Keyfob, keypad and phone-entry systems
  • Wiring diagnosed before anything is replaced

Commercial door hardware

Storefronts, offices, and anything that has to satisfy an inspector.

Full page →

Retail and office doors carry code obligations that residential doors do not — panic hardware, closers, and egress that must work under load. We install to spec so the door passes inspection and keeps working through daily use.

  • Panic bars and exit devices
  • Door closers and pivots adjusted for heavy glass
  • Roll-gate and storefront cylinder service
  • Safes opened, serviced, and re-combinated

Car lockouts & keys

Keys locked in, lost, or the fob died in front of the food co-op.

Full page →

Car lockouts around the Slope cluster near the park, the food co-op, and the Fourth Avenue garages. We open the vehicle without damage, cut and program replacement keys and fobs on site, and reprogram remotes that stopped talking to the car.

  • Car and truck lockouts, damage-free entry
  • Key cutting and fob programming on site
  • Digital and remote key reprogramming
  • Answered 24/7 — same line as everything else

Safes

Opened, serviced, moved combinations — without the movie drama.

Full page →

Most safe calls are a dead keypad battery, a lost combination, or an inherited safe nobody has the code to. We open it clean whenever possible, service the lock, and set a new combination you actually control.

  • Lockouts on home and commercial safes
  • Combination changes and keypad replacement
  • Servicing after an opening — not just a hole
  • Discretion as a default

Commercial & business lockouts

Storefront, office, or warehouse — locked out of your business, 24/7.

Full page →

A business lockout costs money by the minute. We answer around the clock and open storefronts, offices, restaurants, and warehouses across Park Slope and nearby Brooklyn — roll gates, glass herculite doors, panic-hardware doors, and high-traffic entries — without wrecking the door your customers walk through. Staff turnover? We rekey on the spot so old keys die the same visit.

  • Storefront, office, restaurant and warehouse lockouts
  • Roll gates, glass doors, and panic-hardware doors
  • Same-visit rekey so former staff keys stop working
  • Priced on the phone, answered 24/7

Lock change projects — buildings, SMBs & construction

Bulk lock changes and keying projects, from a townhouse portfolio to a whole new build.

Full page →

Large-scale lock work is planning work. We run bulk lock changes and keying projects for multi-unit buildings, townhouse portfolios, small-business chains, property turnovers, and new construction: hardware specified to code, master key hierarchies charted in writing before anything is cut, and installation scheduled around your GC, your tenants, or your opening date.

  • Multi-unit buildings, townhouses, and property turnovers
  • SMB chains — keyed-alike or master-keyed across locations
  • New-construction hardware packages, installed to spec
  • Written master key chart at handover, every time
