Access control and commercial door hardware

Who gets in, through which door, at what hours — with an audit trail. From a single keypad door to a networked building, plus the panic hardware and closers a commercial door needs to pass inspection.

Keypad, fob and card entry

Fobs suit tenants, keypads suit low-turnover doors, cards and phone credentials suit anywhere you need logs. We spec to how the building actually runs, then install standalone single-door units up to networked multi-door systems and service the readers, controllers and power supplies that keep them alive. Platforms we install and take over include HID, Keri Systems, PDK, Kantech, Honeywell, SALTO, Schlage Electronics and Alarm Lock.

The electrified side, done to code

Magnetic locks, electric strikes, request-to-exit sensors and release buttons have to fail the right way: safe egress in an outage, code-compliant every day. We install Securitron, HES, Adams Rite, Von Duprin and SDC hardware on storefronts, lobbies and office suites, and we integrate it with the intercom and the exit device so one properly powered opening does everything.

Commercial door hardware that passes inspection

Retail and office doors on Fifth Avenue, Seventh Avenue and Atlantic Avenue carry code obligations residential doors do not — panic bars, exit devices and closers that must work under load. We install Von Duprin, LCN, Norton, Adams Rite and dormakaba hardware to spec, adjust closers for heavy glass, and say clearly when a door needs more than a lock swap to pass. Roll-gate and storefront cylinder service across Park Slope, Gowanus and Boerum Hill is the same visit.

Straight answers

Fobs, keypads or cards — which should we use?

Depends on turnover and audit needs: fobs for tenants, keypads for low-turnover doors, cards or phone credentials where you need logs. We spec it to how the building actually runs.

Will the door pass inspection?

That is the job — panic hardware and egress installed to code, and we say clearly when a door needs more than a lock swap to pass.

What happens in a power outage?

Egress hardware is configured fail-safe so people always get out; entry security depends on the fail mode we set per door, to code.
